Launch Report 6/10/2007

A beautiful day at the Fox Valley Rocketeers Club launch.  Winds were erratic so I did not fly my Mean Machine nor Madcow Momba.  Below are the rest.

 Fliskits Frick n Frack

One of 3 flying that day.

 Fliskits ACME Spitfire

I love the Mercury Redstone ("Deadstone") pattern. Crooked rockets DO fly!

 Fliskits Corona

Always a lovely rocket to fly.  Unfortunately, the wind took it to another county.  Replacement already ordered!

 Estes V-2

ARGHH!  The big loss of the day.  I spent a LONG time on the paint scheme. It's up there on the tree.  Mocking me...

 Squirrel Works Red Baron

When rockets go bad!  The glider caught on the launcher clips.  Made a perfect elliptical flight straight into the ground.  Broke the center strut, but easily repairable.

 Estes Fat Boy Red Max

The favorite of the day.  Slow takeoff, perfect flights on a B6-4 or C6-5.

 Fliskits Stingray

The chute shroud lines always get caught on the forward "fins".  Will need to investigate further.

 Estes Fat Boy Red Max

Did I mention this was a favorite?

 Estes Tomcat glider

As soon as it lifted off the rod, it cocked 90* into the wind and lawn darted.  I thought it was a fluke and tried again.  Exact same results.  In the exact same location.  Bummer.

Upscale of Estes Der Red Max

24mm motor mount upgrade so flew on an C11-3.

 Dynastar Snarky

I was apprehensive about flying this one - I did not want it to join the V-2 on the tree.  But the flight was awesum!

 Fliskits Deuce-bash Landshark

The experiment of the day - will it fly?  I purposely did not finish painting it just in case it blew up.  Chute got tangled but sustained no damage.  Shark decals will definitely go on!
